    UOK Games is proud to annouce our "Go Green" web page. What is go green? Go green is a web page section I designed for one thing in mind. Ideas for us to help keep land fills empty of computer waste. every year millions of computer waste is dumped and not recycled. So today I was restoreing a old case. I thought you know. It would be great if everyone would restore there old cases and it would help our environment alot. So I researched it. An I found out E waste is huge. An very hardful to our mother earth. So today I personaly will be starting a e friendly business in my area to help our mother earth. An I encourage everyone to at lest consider the idea if you have the tools to do it. So please visit our page, review the computer case restore section. An consider helping out too.

    This page honestly is not the best layout. But what it stands for is the most important thing. It stands for helping us provide a better future for everyone includeing our children. Because if we dont clean up. Our children will not have a place to live nor will we. So lets clean up guys and remember to recycle. Its just the right thing to do.

    Ladderhall Dueling Night

    I know there are alot of people on the site that still have a copy of D2. They either play median or some other mod. Today it is easy to switch versions back and forth and with everyone around I thought it might be fun to plan times for someone or several people to host games so people can duel in different patches. 1.09, all levels 1.12, whoever can host and has the time to say "I'm hosting a game at such and such time so anyone join".

    No ranks, no egos, nothing to lose, just some good duels. I can't host but I would be willing to join some games and have a good time. Anyone else?

    Jot Fails

    Last night I told a few friends JOT died. An they give me some of there feedback why they stopped visiting the site. So I figured it would be a good topic to discuss in here for LH to learn from JOT's mistakes. An those who wanted to be brutaily honest about the site would have a chance.

    Anyway, the biggest downfall I commonly herd was that 90% of the community was mods or staff. There were hardly any regular members before it died. Another common complaint was Jays lack of being present. A few even said they seen Anti aka pual more then Jay. Which they said was very sad. Considering Jays the owner and should be seen at lest once a week. Which I can I understand Jats point of view on that but I under stood my friends point as well. The final big complaint was No ones there. Which I hate to agree but it was true. Even when I went in the staff boards. Rarely did someone post. An when they did, it was nothing normaly interesting.

    Now the biggest fult I seen was lack of support for the community and other games. I mean Jay loved Wow and GW. But never seemed to really capitalize on the games popularity to draw a crowd. I understand its a D2 site. But you could at lest draw back some of the older members. An new ones. To help keep a interest in the site in general. Plus not fully supporting the community really hurt. From what Ive learned working on JOt and various other sites. Keeping in touch with members is key. But thats just my thoughts. Im sure you guys have better thoughts and more brutal ideas on it. Feel free to flame it lol

    As promissed here is the apple call I got today. In summary of course.


    Me:Thanks for calling apple tech support my name is micah can I have your name please?
    cx:yes my name is XXX
    Me:Ok XXX do you have a serial number or a previous case number?
    cx:No Im calling because last night I was messing around with my keyboard settings and changed the lang settings around. An now my computer wont let me log in to change it.
    Me:Ok I have you account pulled up here. It looks like your out of support but can you describe the issue a little more indepth and I can provide you with some options.
    cx:yeah I changed my keyboards lang settings how do I fix it?
    Me. Ok so let me make sure I understand this, you changed your keyboard settings to a differnt lang. You cant log in now. An you need support is this correct?
    cx:Yes, I changed my keyboard settings and I cant log in

    Background:
    Those wondering this cx is a lawyer and is studing to get her Doc in law. I found this out later in the call. An as you see this is kinda boring stuff but it gets better. As you can see the cx repeats her self alot. As were I have to repeat my self as apple policy states to gain a agreement on the issue with the cx.


    Me:Ok our options our APP, ASL, Apple store or self help on line
    Cx:You mean I have to pay for support to fix this?
    Me:YEs Im sorry but you have to pay. You dont have a APP or a warnty so yes
    Cx:This is stupid all I need is help fixing my keyboard
    Me: Ok so let me make sure I under stand what your saying. Your saying your upset because you broke your computer your self, you have no support or wanrty purchased and you want free support?
    Cx: Yes I deserve free support. This is very irratating to me
    Me: Ok so you deserve support because you broke the machine your self and you deserve support cause your upset?
    Cx: Yes
    Me:Ok well XXX Im sorry but we have to get paid some how. Your paying for tech support and paying for our knowledge. So let me ask you this, If I broke the law would you offer law services to me for free?
    Cx: well no
    Me: So why should I give you free support for something you broke your self?
    Cx: cause im upset

    Summary:
    At this point Im trying not to laugh my ass off.

    Me: ok well Im sorry but I went to college too. So please understand that were proffesionals just like you. An apple though we pride our self on being nice and having great support. You have to pay for that great support. Sorry were not a charity.
    Cx: Well thats BS, I demand a supervisor. I should get free support. This should not be something hard to fix.
    Me: No problem can you hold please

    Summary:
    Ok so now Im going to what we call Tier 2. Which is not a supervisor but a help desk.

    Help Desk:Help desk how may I help you
    Me: Hi my name is micah I have a cx online the demanding tech support for soemthing weall ready agreed she broke her self. For give if I laugh but its all I can do to not hang up on the cx
    Help Desk: Our you serious. She broke her computer and wants us to fix it for free?
    Me:yeah thats what I said. She changed her keyboard settings Lang to sweedish and is pissed cause she cant log in or read anything now. She thought I had a magic buttion I guess to instaly fix it. An the cx said "you should fix it cause Im upset"
    Help Desk: Wow thansk micah you really know how to find them dont ya
    Me: yeah sorry, so can you take the call. She asked for a supervisor. I didn't have the heart to tell her I am a Supervisor.
    Help Desk: Sure let me review these notes real fast

    Summary:
    Ok at this point my help desk is not reviewing notes. I know this for a fact. They our simply hoping the cx will hang up before they take the call. An techincaly I could of said something to her about call avoidence. However, I dont blame her. This customer is freaken stupid. An pissed because she broke her computer her self. An thinks shes all high an mighty cause shes a lawyer. Which I think is pretty funny.

    Anyway, after placeing the cx on hold for about 6 mins. My help desk finaly "finished reviewing the notes". She took the call over. But I had nothing else better to do for about 20 mins. So I stayed in on the call. So here is the closeing of the call.

    Help Desk: Hi thanks for holding my name is XXX Micah told me your upset because you broke your computers keyboard settings and set it to a different lang. Is this correct?
    cx: Yes our you a supervisor?
    Help Desk: Accualy no Im a Sr. advisor. Micah is a supervisor. An monitors our network. So accualy what ever he told you. I have to follow his protocol.
    Cx: Well thats BS. I want his supervisor I demand support.
    Help desk: Well XXX Im sorry you broke your computer, but were not a charity. If you would like support. You need to purchase a APP or ASL. Other wise I cant help you today.
    Cx: Well how about I just go buy a PC
    Help Desk: Would you like dell or HP's number? I can look that up for you if you would like.
    Cx:Click

    Summary:
    Oh man that was truely golden when she told the cx that on the phone. Now I should of "coached" her on proper soft skills for telling the cx we cant help them. But yeah I liked the other approach better lol But then again I just wont say anything to her direct sup about it lol I thought they did a good job explaining to the cx. Hey biatch pay for support or get bent lol Also keep in mind the cx was very nasty durning the entire call to both of us. So I feel that the cx got what they deserved. I mean seriously. Were U.S. based support for one. Two everyone has at lest a 2 year degree plus a min of 5 years work in the field exp. So really for 50 bucks per call or 249 for a three year agreement for unlimited support. Its a damn good deal. Anyway, these our the lovely calls we deal with daily. I think there freaking funny lol
